7 Habits to Simplify Your Work Life

Inculcate these 7 Habits to Simplify Your Work Life and stay happy at work. Steering clear from your chat program is just the beginning.

  1. Stay Organized

You can have a messy purse but having a messy desk will only lead to chaos.

Plus, working in organized spaces helps in maintaining mental calm, which by the way is a good thing.

  1. Stop wasting money on lunch

While packing your lunch when you’re already late sounds impossible, try bringing your own lunch. Whatever it is- salad, sandwiches or even soup– make it a habit of preparing and getting your own lunch.

I know it sounds depressing, but not as much as spending a small fortune every day on a fancy overpriced meal.

  1. Always keep an SOS snack handy

I feel about Snickers the same way people feel about puppies.

It has always been my much-needed pick-me-up whenever I’m at my lowest.

  1. Don’t be shy to make use of interns

Interns aren’t your company’s employees so it’s natural if you feel shy in ordering them.

But, they joined your company to learn so, give them work they can help you out with.

And no, that does not mean picking up your lunch or laundry.

  1. Try waking up early

Now before you roll your eyes at me, start with waking up a little bit earlier every day.

You will be a lot less relaxed and have more time to focus on important things.

If you are planning to wake up at 6 am, don’t go and schedule an alarm to wake up at 6 am straightaway.

Your body isn’t used to waking up so early and you are bound to feel sleepy and frazzled.

So, set a smaller goal and try waking up 5 minutes early to your usual wake up time until you get into the habit of waking up comfortably at 6 am.

  1. Make notes on digital devices

Say goodbye to paper and pens and make notes on your mobile/tablet/laptop and sync them with your other work devices.

This will help you save a lot of your precious time and simplify your life when you have all the necessary information at your fingertips.

  1. Limit your Socializing

You know you don’t have to respond to every time your phone chimes.

Resist the urge to check your social feeds/phone every few minutes.

Rather, just schedule a time to check your feed.

Put your phone on DND and get back to work already!
