Do you know how effective are Team Building Activities? Have you ever tried building your team but don’t know the usefulness of Team Building Activities?
The fact is, nobody has ever done anything worthwhile all alone. One always needs a team as competent as oneself to build an empire. Today’s era is all about being a successful entrepreneur where everyone has this urge to be on those Forbes pages. But, do you think anything of such degree can be achieved all by oneself? Well, no! One surely needs a great team by their side. Today we are going to talk about how you can build that “Dream Team” of yours, in order to achieve that goal, you have always longed for.
See, you need to understand that for building a great team, it takes a lot more than finding a group of people who know how to work, what’s important is that your group should possess just the right professional skill set that is required for that specific job role. Once you set up this team, the insights offered by these professionals can help you a great lot in laying over the initial ground map needed and can turn out to be highly productive in taking over that initial layout to the later stages. This way, important factors like harmony, cooperation, innovation, communication, mutual trust, and respect can also be met effectively.

The Plan

The very first step towards creating a great team will need you to have a clear plan and a measurable end goal for what exactly you want to pull off. Jim Collins once said, “If you have more than three priorities, you don’t have any”. For as clear as Jim has been in his statement, you need to understand that priorities matter a lot.
You will have to figure out what’s important and what’s not. Great Teams are built to last. You surely will achieve that goal if you have a clear knowledge of what you’re trying to accomplish. You wouldn’t want to wait for it unless you have wanted it bad enough. So clear your plan, know what you want to do, have a clear objective and then move forward on building the team you require for today. Also, time runs like a coyote, so do not wait to leave for tomorrow what you can start today. So go ahead, be a damn Millionaire!
The Hiring

Can you find your passion in your head? No? Try searching in your heart once. Who you hire for your team will play a key role in determining what you dream about and where you’re going to end up! So hiring is the next big factor which is really important when you’re building your dream team. Let’s take the example of Cricket here. All countries have their Cricket team of 11 individuals which are supposed to be the best in that particular country, every year the ICC (International Cricket Council) prepares a draft of the World XI which has the best out of all the countries and are supposed to be the best on the planet.
What I am trying to infer here is that you need a team where the members are not just good in their work, but the best. Also, it is important for them to coordinate with each other well enough so as to reach the combined objective of themselves as well their team in an effective fashion.
You should know that what’s still in your mind is worth taking the risk. “What Ifs” can hunt you forever and so you have got to take the risk or make peace with losing it all together forever. Achievement will eventually feel good. You need to find the right mix of professionals that will help you achieve your goals.
Remember not to be their boss, but their leader. Keep Mentoring your team when it’s needed. Also, keep mentoring those jewels when not needed. Yes, your team is your set of jewels. They are going to take you there, if not today, one year from now. Just make sure they have the same passion as you have for your goals. Lead them from the front.
There’s no point in having even the best team in the world if you cannot lead them efficiently.
Take more than your share of the blame and less than your share of credit, that’s how leaders are meant to be. That’s a quality of a leader that any team will look up to and fetch motivation from.
Little Things that’ll matter:-
✔A Clear Road Map.
✔A Common Scoreboard.
✔ Universally applicable Rules
✔A healthy office culture.
✔ A Leader rather than a boss.
✔Two-way Accountability.
✔Interpersonal Communication Dynamics.
✔ Interpersonal Communication Dynamics.
✔ Employee Empowerment.
You know this list can go on and on but I think I have made my point. A good team will always focus on the penultimate goal, while valuing each short-term goal in an efficient manner while communicating with the fellow members effectively in order to meet an optimum transparency level, celebrating success as well as the failures, and knowing properly to establish coordination among each other. What they are going to need is an energetic leader who will lead them from the very front, who understands the capabilities of their team, and pushes them to work hard.

It’s not the completion part that will feel the best. It’s not that it doesn’t, it surely does, but what I am trying to say is that it’s the journey that’ll eventually count, the ups and downs, the good and bad days, the struggles and ultimately working hard together to overcome the hurdles and accomplishing the goals for what your team came together. A great team will always enjoy the process together, be in the process together, trust in themselves as well as their fellow mates and come up strongly together exactly when no one will expect them to. That’s the thing about having a great team. It’s a never-ending process. Constant support and motivation will make your team have the courage to dream it, the intelligence to make a pragmatic plan, and ultimately the will to see that plan achieve its end objective.

As a leader, the best investment that you can make is an investment in your team. The more you focus on developing your team, the more you will grow as a leader, the more you’ll get close to your goals and that’s what is the most important part.
✔ Keep an Open Mind, always.
✔ Moderate your expectations.
✔ Shift your perspective when needed.,
You need to understand that ultimately it will come down to how bad you need it and hence you need to stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think about what if it goes right. That’s the most beautiful part of this journey. The sky is the Limit. So stop thinking and go for it. Form your team and start working. Your goals are waiting for you; all you have to do is take a firm step because no one else is going to do that for you.
I hope I have been able to make you understand how important it is to have a great team on board and how to form one. So without a second thought, start working on it today and see yourself accomplishing your dreams tomorrow. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. I sincerely am anticipating that I have been of help to all you leaders out there and I wish you all the very best in your endeavors. Leave your valuable comments in the comment section below.
