We bring you interesting ways to get your hummus from basic to delicious in a jiffy.
Basic Hummus
You’ll need:
½ cup tahini
2 cups cooked chickpeas
2 cloves garlic, peeled
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, and some more for drizzling
1 tsp paprika
Freshly ground salt and pepper, to taste
Freshly chopped parsley
Juice of 1 lemon, and more as per the requirement
Method:
- Put all the ingredients in a food processor. Add a little water, just enough to allow the machine to produce a smooth puree.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if required.
- Drizzle olive oil, sprinkle paprika and chopped parsley leaves.
- Serve chilled.
The Big Dip
Avocado Hummus
You’ll need:
1 small ripe avocado
1 cup basic hummus
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
Method:
- Blend the basic hummus and avocado together.
- Drizzle olive oil and garnish with chickpeas.
Beetroot Hummus
You’ll need:
1 cup roasted beetroot
1 cup basic hummus
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
Method:
- Blend all the ingredients till smooth. Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil and serve.
The Big Dip
Basil Pesto Hummus
You’ll need:
½ cup basil leaves, plus extra for garnish
1 cup basic hummus
¼ cup parmesan
¼ cup pine nuts
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
Method:
- Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
- Drizzle a generous amount of extra-virgin olive oil and garnish with basil leaves.
